I lifted weights for many years, but started to search for something that would provide more training in flexibility and balance, while maintaining strength and definition - I found Pilates through research and talking to a number of folks that practiced Pilates - it has been awesome! Once I discovered Pilates, I started to search for studio and found Body Springs Pilates. Vicki, the founder, is a former Rockette and is amazing - attentive to form and doing things correctly and she looks awesome - very inspiring! If you think Pilates is easy and isn't a tough work out - think again! I know there are a number of men that take Pilates and swear that it enhances their gym weight work outs. It is a solid hour of movement that focuses on training your core strength and builds from there. This stuff kicks your butt and burns calories, especially as you gain more core strength and begin to add more challenging exercises. I'm also an avid walker and Pilates has allowed me to maintain better posture and form in my walking so I've been able to increase my speed and distance significantly. All the teachers there are fabulous and there is someone to fit every personality - try a class or an individual lesson - I think you'll be hooked! — Kathy S.
